Education Abroad. USF Peru Climate Change: MAY 15 - JUNE 23, 2019

OVERVIEW

This course uses the perspective of social sciences such as anthropology, sociology, geography, and economics to examine the way in which the health of individuals and populations is affected by climate change and by the social, economic, and political factors associated with it. We will focus on issues such as food and water insecurity, environmental degradation, and natural disasters, among others. Throughout the course, we will pay special attention to the ethics of research and practice. While the course will emphasize global trends, it will also highlight the way in which health-related issues manifest in the Peruvian context.
