We offer an outstanding opportunity for a junior colleague to become involved in behavioral substance abuse research focusing on the use of mixed methodologies. The Center for Interventions, Treatment, and Addictions Research (CITAR) (https://medicine.wright.edu/citar), seeks a Research Assistant Professor to work on a four-year, NIH/NIDA funded natural history study focusing on buprenorphine diversion, self-treatment, and substance abuse treatment seeking among heroin and other opioid users. As part of our interdisciplinary team, the successful candidate will help coordinate data collection activities, conduct structured and ethnographic/qualitative interviews, assist with data analyses, present findings at scientific conferences, write for publication and help prepare grant submissions. Opportunities to pursue independent research will be encouraged.
Applicants must have completed PhD in anthropology, sociology, psychology, public health, social work, or related field, by start date and training in qualitative and quantitative research methods; excellent English verbal, and written communication skills; interest in substance abuse research; and strong ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment. Qualified applicants should have interests in all phases of NIH-level substance abuse research, including proposal writing, project implementation, human subjects, data collection and analysis, and writing for publication.
Full-time annual salary, university benefit package, including medical insurance coverage, and travel funds supported by NIH grants.
