Starting this August I will be volunteering for a year in Tanzania. I will be volunteering with the 2Seeds Network; they don't used the phrase applied anthropology but that is in large part what they do. 2Seeds emphasizes getting to know the people, their culture, history, current lives, worries and challenges and basing a development project off of this information and relationships within the community. The end goal is to turn the project over to the people who live there so the community can continue to improve according to their own terms. Many of the projects focus on sustainable farming and education; I will be working on a demonstration farm in Kijungumoto.
Right now, I need to raise $8,000 to cover the cost of the trip and the project. My question for all of you wonderful people is do you know of any organizations, people, grants or other resources I could reach out to in order to reach this goal? I am researching online to try to find resources, but I thought there may be more available through connections such as this group. Any help is greatly appreciated!
