5 Tips on How to Survive College as a Full Time Student

Being a college student can be challenging. There is a constant load of work waiting at your desk, and many people on your contact list whom you’d rather call than study. So, how could you maintain a balance and do both? It seems like your grades are dropping if you are partying too much, yet your social life suffers if you focus only on studying.

Let’s find a solution for you. Here are some tips on how to survive college while being a full-time student.

  1. Plan Your Time

Having too many tasks on your check list can be tiring and exhausting even when you plan your time accordingly. Imagine what happens when you don’t! You won’t be able to handle all the work load without keeping organized. It is crucial to:

  • Buy a planner
  • Write down your work plan weekly
  • Set a goal for each month
  • Leave time in your schedule for having fun
  • Reward yourself for accomplishing goals at the end of each week
  1. Budget Your Money

Money.... we all know how broke we are in college. Why would I bring up this subject? Well, because I need you to remember that money doesn’t mean that much when you are not doing that well. If you spend too much eating out and partying all the time, of course you are going to end up broke. Planning your weekly budget and saving for amazing goals like traveling can be good practice for adulthood.

Thus, make a list with your weekly expenses and don’t overspend on stuff. Buy yourself a small gift at the end of each week to remember that you appreciate yourself. Learn how to cook rather than eat out. Start acting independently!

  1. Take Constant Breaks

Your mind and body won’t function without constant breaks. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Relax and enjoy life even when studying hard. Keeping a balance means making the best out of both worlds, so don’t feel guilty if you are having too much fun one day. You will make up for it by studying harder the next. 1. Make True Friends

Going away for college usually means letting go of old friends and making new ones. While it is hard to accept that that happens, it is the truth. Make sure you don’t make any type of friends though – some might be really damaging for you without even noticing. Take your time to choose your friends, and keep the best ones close.

  1. Join a Team

Teamwork makes the dream work! Join intramurals or even a volunteer team. Make new friends by sharing the same passions, and enjoy working with your peers. These activities and relationships will lay the foundation for your future work team, so make sure you are not new to all these when you join a corporation.

Team players are communicative, attentive, and friendly. You should develop these qualities as well!

Wrapping Up

College is an extraordinarily reaching experience if you know how to handle it. Yes, it can be tiring, and yes, it can be stressful, but if you choose your friends wisely, join the right teams, and work hard towards your goals, you are going to have the best time of your life!
