Cultural Anthropologist interested in problems of "overtourism." I obtained my Master's degree at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in July 2016. My focus at the time was in refugee studies and I worked with grassroots groups in Catalonia focused on refugee integration. I have since worked with the Red Cross as a social intervention mentor in Catalonia, a law firm based in the U.S. working with global business immigration and have taught classes to immigrants interested in learning English and integrating into life in the United States. Based on my experiences in Barcelona, my interests have more fully focused on tourism studies. Specifically, I am interested in crises of "overtourism" like those being experienced in Venice, Barcelona, Iceland and various locales throughout the world. I plan to pursue my PhD in Barcelona beginning in the fall of 2019 focusing on the issue of "overtourism" as it relates to the Catalan capital specifically. In the meantime, I am seeking research opportunities in the same field to grow my experience and expertise.
