I received my MA in Russian Area Studies from The Ohio State University in 2011, and am currently a political anthropology researcher at The Kettering Foundation. My research interests include rural sociology of Karelia and the Russian Barents territories, inequality studies, and circumpolar issues more broadly. I speak Russian and have six years of experience in Old Norse-Icelandic. I enjoy ON sagas and myth, military reenactment, and primitive hiking and camping.
