I'm an ethnobiologist and anthropologist. I'm interested in how perception and adaptive behavior shape culture. My recent research has been focused on paracultures, especially reenactors. Theoretically, I'm interested in how perception shapes ritualized behavior, group affinity, and relationships with the biological and social world.
