Association for Applied and Clinical Sociology Annual Conference, October 11-13, 2018. Norfolk, Virginia. Theme: “Translating Complexity into Action.” Open to all applied social scientists, as well as those looking to use their social science skills in applied and clinical areas. Participants include: academics, policy, program and project leaders, business consultants, health care and government professionals. The meeting will be a point of mutual learning and growth among practitioners in the field and professionals challenged with building systems for human improvement. AACS has a reputation as a student-friendly conference for both undergraduates and graduate students, featuring student problem solving, paper competitions, and mentoring opportunities. Papers, full sessions, workshops, and poster submissions welcomed. Proposals that address teaching with an applied focus are also invited.
